Senior Engineer
Location: Kent, Washington
Description:
The Senior Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and design solutions to support the development of new space vehicles and test/launch facilities. The position requires expertise in analysis, laboratory testing, and hardware design/fabrication. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to piece together fragments of incomplete information, formulate hypotheses, identify root-cause, and recommend solutions to difficult problems. The candidate is also required to work independently on advance development projects. Coordination and collaboration skills will also be an essential part of the job.

- Cryogenic systems
- Tank pressurization
- Fluid sloshing
- Fluid transients
- CFD simulations
- Aeroheating
- Plume heating
- Conjugate heat transfer
- Thermal component qualification
- Aerodynamics
- Low-cycle fatigue
- Other systems engineering duties as required
Qualifications:
Required
This position requires at least a BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering and at least 20 years of experience in fields of fluids, heat transfer, and thermodynamics. The candidate should have demonstrated the ability to solve a variety of complex problems using a combination of analysis and hands-on laboratory testing. Experience with the following tools is seen as a plus: Sinda/Fluint, ROCETS, CFD++ (or other CFD package), SPF, TDK, ANSYS, C/C++, FORTRAN, and Matlab / Simulink. The position requires the ability to work in a team and provide technical guidance and insight. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
