Engine Test Operations Lead
Location: Kent, Washington
As part of a small team, you will lead the development, construction, operation and maintenance of liquid rocket engine test facilities. This is a hands-on leadership position.
Responsibilities:
- Work with experienced engineering staff to design, plan, fabricate and install liquid rocket engine test facilities
- Develop and execute test plans and subsequent data reviews
- Procure components and materials; manage vendors and subcontractors
- Plan and oversee facility maintenance
- Assist with schedule and cost estimation and management
- Identify opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings
Qualifications:
Required
- Demonstrated technical expertise in liquid rocket engine test
stand design, operation and maintenance.
- Pressurized Gas Systems
- Fluid Systems
- Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, experience with cryogenic propellants, hydrogen peroxide and kerosene is preferred.
- Understand/experience with hazardous operations and design for system safety.
- Strong Project Management and team leadership skills
- BS degree in engineering and at least 5 years direct experience with propulsion test facilities.
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information.
Desired
- 10 or more years experience in the design, development, and operation of propulsion test facilities.
- Experience with civil engineering projects.
- Experience in construction management.
- Experience with 3D CAD tools and data.
- Knowledge of the state of the art in data acquisition and control hardware and software.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication and integration processes and quality control.
